Design Inspiration

Once upon a time, seven glowing moons lit up the night sky. The Bakunawa, a curious sea serpent, fell in love with their beauty and playfully swallowed six of them! Fearing the last moon might vanish too, the people made joyful noise, clanging pots and pans. Hearing their cheerful commotion, the Bakunawa let the final moon go, allowing it to shine forever. And so, the playful serpent became a legend, reminding everyone of the moon’s enduring beauty.

Printed onto luxurious silk, the Bakunawa moves with an air of mystery and charm, turning an ancient tale into a celebration of celestial beauty and Filipino folklore. As the Bakunawa dances across the scarf, the playful interaction between the serpent and the moons creates a dynamic and uplifting piece, a reminder that even in legend, there is beauty, movement, and light.

Material & Craftsmanship

Smooth and lustrous, this JIM Weaver scarf is made of 100% natural silk twill and is 90×90 cm big. Hems are hand-rolled, so no two scarves are alike. Natural silk can last a lifetime with proper care. We recommend dry-cleaning only and no hot iron for best results.

Packaging

Your scarf will be delivered in a free gift box, tied with a ribbon and finished off with a free gift tag where you can write notes to your loved ones. Inside, each scarf will be wrapped in Japanese paper and comes with a card insert in premium paper that describes the design inspiration and care instructions.
