NewReady for a Boodle Fight? A great way to share food amongst family and friends is by serving different dishes on a table filled with banana leaves. No rules! Just eat with your hands and celebrate the growing popularity of Filipino cuisine. The pièce de résistance of this design is the “lechon”, a suckling pig roasted to perfection. It is surrounded by a myriad of local delicacies, such as the halo halo, puto, isaw, to name a few. Can you spot some curious boodle fight food choices sprinkled throughout the tableau? Our lechon seems to want to take a closer look as well.

A visual storyteller at heart, Isabelle is a Filipino artist and graphic designer who combines her love for travel, books, and whimsy with her penchant for mixing her favored art mediums—acrylic, watercolor, digital styling, and modern calligraphy—into single frames. As the Creative Director at JIM Weaver, she enjoys sneaking quirky easter eggs into her mostly grown-up designs.

₱ 3,850.00This design was our first foray into Filipino culture and tradition. Its main subject is a “diwata,” known in Philippine mythology as a goddess or spirit guardian of a region. She is inspired by Maria Makiling, one of the most popular Filipino diwatas and the protector of Mount Makiling in the Laguna province. Surrounded by Philippine botanicals, she is believed to protect the bounty of the land. The soft peaks and valleys of the mountain is said to be seen in the gentle slope of her sleeping form.
