This design was our first foray into Filipino culture and tradition. Its main subject is a “diwata,” known in Philippine mythology as a goddess or spirit guardian of a region. She is inspired by Maria Makiling, one of the most popular Filipino diwatas and the protector of Mount Makiling in the Laguna province. Surrounded by Philippine botanicals, she is believed to protect the bounty of the land. The soft peaks and valleys of the mountain is said to be seen in the gentle slope of her sleeping form.

A fiesta with no lechon is no fiesta at all. Often the centerpiece of the buffet spread in Filipino gatherings, the lechon draws the most ‘oooohs’ and ‘aaaahs’ from dinner guests waiting to dig in. Cut me some of the decadent crispy skin, please!

Ready for a Boodle Fight? A great way to share food amongst family and friends is by serving different dishes on a table filled with banana leaves. No rules! Just eat with your hands and celebrate the growing popularity of Filipino cuisine.
The pièce de résistance of this design is the “lechon”, a suckling pig roasted to perfection. It is surrounded by a myriad of local delicacies, such as the halo halo, puto, isaw, to name a few. Can you spot some curious boodle fight food choices sprinkled throughout the tableau? Our lechon seems to want to take a closer look as well.

A Losange is a scarf in the shape of a diamond. You may use it just like any regular scarf by tying it around your neck, your bag or your head, but experience how nicely it falls due to its narrower shape.
